Instructions for Windows 7

Specify installed OS bit. Open the control panel, select the "System and Security" menu item, then "System". You need information in the "System Type" field - 32 or 64-bit OS.


Download OpenVPN client from the official site for your operating system and save to disk: OpenVPN.net


Open the directory with the saved file, right-click on it and select "run as administrator":


Your Windows may request permission to install the program. Allowed:


Click Next on installer welcome screen.


Click I Agree on the License Agreement screen. Usually nobody reads the agreement.


On the screen for program component selecting we set:


If you expand "Advanced", you can find "Launch OpenVPN GUI on User Logon" option. You can disable it so that the OpenVPN client does not start automatically when you log on to Windows. Click Next button:


On the next screen the installer inquires the path to install the client. We recommend default value. Click "Install".


During the installation process, Windows will inform you that you are attempting to install the TAP-Windows device driver. Click "Install":


On the next screen the installer reports about Installation Complete. Click Next.


On the last screen, the installer suggests clicking the Finish button and displaying Readme file. By this time, the shortcut OpenVPN has already been created on the desktop:


Now right-click on the created shortcut on the desktop and select "Properties." In the window select "Compatibility" tab and activate "Run this program as administrator" checkbox. Save changes:


Launch OpenVPN. Windows can repeatedly request permission to make changes to the computer. After the launch, OpenVPN client will report that no configuration files are found, and then it will be minimized in the tray icon next to the clock:


Now go to the billing panel and download the configuration file, or create such a file and copy the content from the text field in the billing.


Save the file to any convenient location, then right-click the OpenVPN icon in the tray and select "Configuration Import". The file shall have the extension ".ovpn”.:


The client shall report “File import is successfully completed". Now you can right click OpenVPN icon in the tray and select "Connect". If you have more than one configuration file, menu will provide optional servers to connect to.


The connection process will start, opened window will contain debugging information, and the icon will change color to yellow. After the connection is successfully completed, you will see a notification about this with your internal IP address, and the icon will turn green.
